Hamed Murad
I’m a seasoned portfolio manager with a disciplined investment philosophy rooted in understanding human behaviour and a commitment to long-term growth. Over my 15 years in wealth management and investment strategy, I’ve developed an approach that combines market expertise with behavioural insights to guide clients through today’s complex investment landscape.
My life journey has taken me to five countries across four continents, and I’m fluent in five languages. This international experience gives me a unique perspective on how global trade, geopolitics, and cultural dynamics shape markets and investor sentiment, allowing me to spot opportunities and manage risks across different regions and sectors.
I firmly believe psychology plays a crucial role in investing. That’s why I embrace a disciplined, data-driven approach that helps avoid emotional and cognitive biases. Through patience, thoughtful diversification, and behavioural finance principles, I help my clients stay focused on their long-term objectives rather than reacting to market fluctuations.
Beyond managing portfolios, I connect investment strategies to real-life goals through financial and estate planning. I’ve developed a deep understanding of family wealth dynamics, which helps me serve as a thoughtful advisor and trusted partner to a select group of clients whose portfolios evolve with their changing needs and priorities.
My journey began with an Honours degree in economics from the University of Wales, and I hold the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation. I started my career in banking roles in England and Africa before moving to Canada, where I worked with major banks and was recognised among Toronto’s top advisors. I later moved to private wealth management to better align with fiduciary standards and deliver truly personalised planning. I’ve also enjoyed sharing my knowledge as a Wealth Management instructor at Seneca College.
When I’m not focused on markets and portfolios, you’ll find me camping, hiking, playing chess, or diving into historical non-fiction. I treasure time with my family and believe in balancing financial stewardship with life’s most meaningful pursuits.
